Positive SEO Factors that Increase Search Engine Ranking

Some of the important factors that search engine consider when ranking websites are

Content - Search engines rank a webpage higher for a particular keyword or keyphrase based on

  • Repetition - The frequency with which that keyword or keyphrase has been used in that webpage
  • Relationship - The context in which the searched keyword has been used with respect to other related keywords in the content.

Links
  • Inbound Links - The number of other websites that are referring to your website for that particular keyword
  • Quality of Link - A link from an external website that is highly ranked for that keyword has more weightage than a link from a website that has lower search engine ranking.
  • Uniqueness of Link - If your website is the only website that is being referred to by an external website, which is highly ranked in search results, then that link will have higher weightage. If the inbound link referring website is also referring to lot more other websites, apart from your website, then that inbound link to your website has less weightage as viewed by search engines.
  • Internal linking - A website that has good internal site linking structure and a sitemap will rank higher in search engines

Time to Load - Search engines rank higher those websites that load faster, as it is related to better user experience.

  • Domain Name - A website that has the same keywords in its domain name and the content in it will be ranked higher for those keywords.
  • Web Hosting Duration - The longer the duration that a website has been hosted for a related content, higher will be the search index of that website.
